Church (GKP)
Gereja Kristen Pelita (GKP) meets at the Chemical Science Theatre every Sunday morning at 9:30am. GKP is the time when we join together with other Christians and those who are interested in knowing God better, to pray, sing, hear, and respond to God’s Word (the Bible). Most of the meeting is conducted in simple English, however we also sing Indonesian Christian songs and occasionally have Bible readings in Indonesian.
When you arrive, a friendly team of GKP Welcomers will give you a name tag, explain to you what will happen, show you where to go, and answer any questions you may have.
In our typical Church meetings the Bible talk is an opportunity for us to hear a small portion of a book from the Bible being clearly explained and applied powerfully to our lives. After the talk there is often an opportunity to discuss what we have heard, and ask ‘live’ questions to the speaker! We usually finish just after 11am. Light refreshments and lunch in one of the restaurants in Kingsford often follows.
