Welcome!
My name is Charles, and I have the great privilege of the being one of the pastors of Gereja Kristen Pelita (GKP), an exciting church that meets at the University of New South Wales.
“WHO WILL YOU MEET AT GKP?”
We are a growing group of mostly Indonesian Christian university students (although you will also meet workers and some young families among us) whose desire to love God and better love one another draws us to meet together regularly. There are also many students who come because they want to find out more about Jesus from the Bible.
“WHY MEET AT UNI?”
One of the most common questions people ask when they visit us is: “Why does your church meet in lecture theatres and tutorial rooms?” And the simple answer is… because we want to be where YOU are. We believe that as long as God’s people are meeting together around God’s word (the Bible), then the shape or size of the place they meet doesn’t matter. And if Christian Indonesian university students find it easier to meet at the uni – then that’s where we’ll be!
“WHY JOIN GKP?”
If you are looking for a church that (1) highly values the clear and faithful study and teaching of God’s word (the Bible), and (2) promotes a thoughtful and loving community of both Christian believers as well as those interested in Jesus and the Christian faith – then you’ve come to the right place!
